“A woman who doesn’t wear perfume has no future”Coco Chanel

Well, that’s a little bit extreme but you get the idea: perfume is important. And I am talking about real perfume not the VS or Bath & Body Works body spray. I am talking about an odor, a smell that represent you, your mood, your femininity, everything..!I associate each of my perfume with a different state of mind. I don’t like to always smell the same because I feel like it doesn’t represent me. Monday I’ll feel sweet and Thursday I’ll be sexy Meg, and I don’t think a single essence can capture both aspect of my personality. That’s why I like to have multiple fragrances from which I can gravitate around. I try to limit it to five, for the sake of my wallet because a good perfume (and the one I like) is usually not cheap. For the purpose of this article I’ve selected my three favorite of the moment. Of the moment because believe me in two to three months they will probably not be on this list, those are : La Vie Est Belle, Midnight Romance and Daisy.

Christian Dior once said:” Long after one has forgotten what a woman wore, the memory of her perfume lingers”. Ladies like to feel appreciated whether it’s on their outfit, hair… and perfumes appear as the icing on the cake: not necessarily needed but essential to stand out and be remembered. Beauty products taught us that aesthetic packaging not always rhyme with delightful scents but our little perfume collection is the exception which proves the rule. Today, I’m sharing with you Daisy Dream, Miss Dior and Black opium: From florals to black coffee through jasmine, and so on – I have here breathtaking smells that go along with everyday mood.

xx,

Audrey.

Lancôme – La Vie Est Belle

This fragrance is an all time favorite and my mom’s favorite too, it just reminds me of her every time I wear it. It just screams woman and elegance to me with the notes of iris and patchouli and leaves a trail behind you that makes every one wonder what perfume you put on. The bottle is very “chic” and makes me think of Paris with the little tie around the bottle neck, it also mimic the shape of a smile as if it constantly wants to remind you that life is beautiful.

Ralph Lauren – Midnight Romance

I have a love/hate relationship with this perfume, sometimes I love it sometimes I just can’t smell it. I can go month without using it and suddenly I want to wear it every single day. This perfume is sensual, passionate and mysterious (this definition comes from Sephora’s website, I am rubbish at describing fragrance). This scent is so bewitching that I cannot stop smelling my self every time I wear it.

Marc Jacobs – Daisy Dream

Long story short: Daisy is the name I would have called myself if I could. When I was little, Daisy Duck was my favorite character because I found her glamourous and loyal so I looked up to her (please don’t judge me). Also, even though I have my feet on the ground, my head’s always on the stars caught up between countless number of dreams. So I felt like the name of the perfume was speaking to me. Then, I fell in love with the packaging which is something Marc never fails. Everything about this bottle, from the blue-toned liquid to the soupçon of daisies over the neck and middle, is appealing to my eyes. Last but not least: the scent. Fresh and youthful, the notes of grapefruit, jasmine and coconut water makes it perfect for everyday wear.

Christian Dior – Miss Dior

This one is the first luxury brand perfume I got from my mom when I was 15 and I’ve been loving it since – even though the smell changed a little bit. She gave it to me because she felt like it was for younger girls and she is definitely right. Miss Dior resembles the Fashionable young and elegant girl you see in the streets of New York: effortless attractive and racing towards her destiny. the smell of this fragrance is ideal for spring or a romantic date thanks to the polyphonic blend of citrus and floral notes which last all day.

Yves Saint Laurent – Black Opium

Black opium is definitely what I put on when I feel confident about everything I am wearing- White florals to “instantly seduce” and vanilla for “sensuality”. What I like most about this one is that is different from any other vanilla based scent you would smell thanks to the coffee bean notes in it (maybe that’s why it’s so addictive). Alluring yet not overpowering, it will make you look feminine and mysterious at the same time. Perfect for a night out, this one is for sure my go to this fall/winter.

Marc Jacobs – Daisy

This one was a gift and I’ve learned to love it over time. I am not usually driven to floral scent but it really grew on me and I found myself reaching for it. It is just so bubbly, fresh and young. To me it is the perfect everyday fragrance. Just like Audrey said, Marc bottles’s  design are always on point and even if you don’t like the scent, you will fall for the packaging.
